Call this the Portable Parable Department. We’ve got an irrepressible love of drama ministry around here, and we’ve got scores of original scripts circulating around the country because of it. Perhaps one of these will bless and encourage your ministry.

Really, this all started quite a few years ago when we couldn’t find a Christmas script we liked for our church youth group. We wrote one of our own, and really haven’t stopped writing them since. Full-length drama productions, children’s theatre, short skits, one-acts, comedies, dramas, semi-musicals … it really got quite out of control after awhile.
Know what we discovered? There’s great connectivity in storytelling (Jesus taught us that). There’s great healing in laughter. There’s something bonding about taking a journey together, even a fictional one. And the realest ministry in any drama ministry is always backstage, in the lobby, and in the green room.
Many of these scripts have some additional devotional content with them, to aid in the spiritual growth of cast and crew along the way. Our plan is to add this kind of material to each of them. We pray you’ll find them a blessing and an encouragement.
If you have any questions about staging or other ideas, don’t hesitate to contact us.
FULL-LENGTH SCRIPTS
The whole drama enchilada. These are full-on drama productions, most of them anywhere from 90 minutes to two hours. We’ve used these as stand-alone outreach pieces, dinner theatre, fundraising events, and even some traveling troupe work.
ONE-ACTS & MID-LENGTH SCRIPTS
This is the mix-and-match shelf. Most of these scripts are between 15 and 40 minutes in length, and they can stand alone or be part of a multi-faceted church event. Some of them can be broken into two or three short acts, so that the storyline intersperses with other elements of the event, such as key speakers, worship bands, etc.
SKITS
A little love and truth in small, punchy doses. (You know, sorta like Proverbs). That’s what we’ve tried to build into these shorter pieces, whether a 4-minute sermon starter or a 10-minute youth-group feature. You’ll find a lot of seasonal pieces in here as well.
CHILDREN’S THEATRE
Come as a child, and watch what changes. If you’ve never tried Children’s Theatre as a form of outreach and blessing in your community, you might be surprised by its power and platform. We’ve found that these pieces never fail to bring great delight and real avenues for engagement – with kids and adults alike. (And let’s face it: where else is it socially acceptable for you to dress up like a fuzzy animal and run around doing pratfalls and silly stuff for an hour? Right?)
SKITS FOR KIDS TO PERFORM

Sure, there’s the cuteness factor. But there’s also the unique teachable moment that comes from inserting kids themselves into stories of biblical truth and character. Most of these are 5 to 15 minutes long.
